Hi,

I am a pharmacist and my employer is willing to apply for GC in EB2 category. I am born in the UK. Could someone please tell how long it takes for the whole process or till I get the EAD. Also, would my husband also get at the same time or there is time gap as he cannot work till then.

Successful completion of step 1 labor certification would make you eligible to file concurrently I-140/485/765/131 for you,along with filing of I-485, I-765(EAD) & I-131(Travel document) for your spouse. These document filings hold good for you, meaning UK born (which falls under Rest of the world ROW) labor certification filed under EB2 classification, since EB2 being current for your country of chargeability.

Could you tell how long on an average me n my husband can take EAD so that we both be able to work and finally for GC...just on an average..from the day LC is applied.....Thanks!!! please answer as whole of our future planning is based on this...

I cannot provide you realistic estimate how much it would take to clear step 1. Labor certfication times are quite erratic. Based on what i know is clean cases are taking 6-8 months, audit cases currently processed by Atlanta Center is backlogged by 1 1/2 to 2 years.
