PERM Approved. What Now?

Hi! Just wanted some advice based on my situation.

My PERM just got approved yesterday (EB-2, Boston, Statistical Analyst, MS). It was filed Sep 28th so it took about 3 weeks.

I am from Sri Lanka so my dates are still current. However, I am getting married in December and my wife will be here around mid-Jan on H-4. I am worried that my dates will also retrogress if I wait till Jan to apply.

I want my wife to get her EAD so she is allowed to work . Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Should I just wait till Jan? Any other options?

Also, I have 3 more years on H1-B. So should I apply for my EAD as well? If I remain on H1-B, is there some 6 month rule or something after which I fall into the "safe zone"? So after 6 months...in case I get laid off and I'm on H1-B, what happens?

Congrats!
just another proof of the efficiency of the Atlanta PERM center (as compared to Chicago).

What you could do..
1) file I-140 soon
2) get all documents ready for I-485 filing but wait
3) since you are getting married mid-jan '06 file I-485 (it's called semi-concurrently) as close to that date but before any retrogression (obviously).
Most probably a good time to file would be end of December (if visa bulletin should indicate retro for jan '06).

The main thing is that you get married BEFORE the I-485 is approved since then you can do follow-to-join.

Re: 6 months safety...read up on AC-21 180 day rule

Is retrogression mostly happening in january for OTHER countries?

what are the chances that it wont happen for another 4-6 months?

my paper ad is given
job order is pending yet
my super-slow lawyer is not filing perm soon
:(

retro for 'other' projected for Q2 (Jan-Mar) '06 (according to oh law firm, shusterman & others). They indicated it could be as soon as Jan '06 (lets hope not).
