PERM Approved. Next step adv/disadv?

I got my EB3 PERM approved in about 50 days from Atlanta Processing center.

Filed: 10/15/05
Approved: 12/05/05

I have couple of questions regarding the next step (I-140)

What are the benefits/disadvantages of filing I-140 now?
Are there benefits of filing I-140 and I-485 simultaneously?

I know one is eligible for 3 year extensions after approved I-140;

I am also planning to file for another PERM under EB2 for future employment. This PERM application will be exact same as the previous approved one. (except that I have completed 5 years experience now, I will be under EB2 category)

Any experiences from anyone on the forum on this?
Keeping the above in mind, should I file I-140 now or later?

Thanks in advance.

If I140 is approved, you can keep your PD of 10/15/05 for the rest of your life.

You are dreaming or kidding. You need to wait few years (maybe a long long time) to have your EB3 PD current

Yeap

Different company ? If yes, you can do that.

Now if the next PERM with different company.

Thanks in advance.

I know I have to wait for "long long" time to file I140 and I485 together. The question is: should I wait (to file together) or not (just file I140 now)?

The other PERM I plan to file is from a different company for future employment.

Based on your response, I am infering that I can keep the PD of 10/15/05 after I140 is approved from my current company. (even in the eventuality of leaving current company for the different company filing under EB2 future employment)

Yeap you can keep PD for the rest of your life if you have a copy of I140 approval notice on hand.

can the current company not cancel I140 or LC (or withdraw) after me leaving the company?

someone please share their expereince of filing second PERM for future employment after the first one is approved?

I am ont sure if that. YOu can retain you priority date only if you are filing in the same EB category. In your case it looks like you will be filing in the EB2 category after having gotten approval in the EB3 category.
