PERM and Backlogged Case Approval

Guys, My company filed my labor under EB3 in May'04. Now I pushed them that because it is EB3 they should do EB2 under PERM.

I got PERM approval under EB2 December 1st.

Please suggest if I should have them file I140 or because my backlogged case has earlier priority date I will be better off waiting.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush my friend. God knows when your backlogged case will get approved. I 140 approvals are extremely fast these days. So once you have both you can have your H1B extended by 3 yrs if the need arises.
 
Thanks for your suggestion!!! Also, can you direct me to a source which describes about changing jobs after 140 while 485 is still backlogged.

If you change jobs while your 485 is backlogged, you will have to refile for PERM and I 140. You can change jobs only 180 days after filinf got I 484. YOu can search for AC 21 on google and you will get the answer to your question regarding that.
