People stuck with visas mantis check after CP interview, please come in.

I don't how many people are there having the same situation. Done the interview in April, but was told need to get Security Adivisory Opinion (SAO)from DOS. Later we realized that our job fall in the Technology Alert List (TAL), and we have advanced degree (Ph.D). So I guess our case is under the visa mantis check with DOS/FBI/various agencies before we can get our visa.
Was told that it would only take 2-3 weeks. But now 8 weeks passed still no news. From various internet sources we learnt that DOS has been urged to reform and expedize the visa mantis process and they are promising that it is now taking under 14 days for most cases to finish the check. But...who knows, I am not really optimistic about this for some reason...

Is anybody in the same situation? Please share your information, we may get encouragement somehow, and may learn how to help this kind of case.

The name check is done routinely before the interview. We have been through FBI name check before the interview, too. After FBI interview is done, the consulate schedule you for an interview. It is during the interview, the consulate told us that our job fall into the technology alert list and they need Security advisory opinion from DOS. That is when they start the visas mantis check and we are still waiting.
