Pending Service Consideration Prior to Security Check Request ?

When I did an enquiry in Jan 2005, I get a reply in Feb 2005 as Pending Service Consideration.
I was recently told that Name Check was requested only in Mar 2005.

This leads me to believe that Pending Service Consideration is the stage after FP but prior to requesting for Name Check. I have seen quite a few people in response to their enquiry are told that 'Waiting for Security Clearance'.

So are the following responses for each chronological stage:
- Pending Service Consideration (Before Name Check Request is sent)
- Waiting Security Clearance (Name Check Sent but Response from FBI awaited)
- Waiting for Adjudication (Name Check Cleared and Waiting to be Approved/RFE)

Can anyone can throw more light on it ?

Well, the response I've got to my latest inquiry was "Pending Service consideration" (they did my FP 1/13/2005).

At the same time my 5-year old daughter got another response to my inquiry about her case - it stated "The processing of your petition has been delayed. The principal applicant is required to have routine security checks that are resulting in delays of the adjudication of petitions. As a result of the lack of manpower to complete the checks in a timely manner, we have no control over how long these checks will take. We can give no definite indication of when they will be completed."

What does it mean? Did they send a request for name check or not? Go figure :mad:

Are Name Checks required for minors ?

Your RD is same as mine. Well the good thing is quite a few Apr 2003 are getting approved or have been recently approved.

On a recent call at the 1-800#, I somehow reached a live service rep.(quite likely at VSC). She told me that Name Check was requested only on Mar 12,2005. Needhelp1 had written in an earlier post it takes about 4/5 weeks for Name Check to be cleared if no hit.

You can ask whether they have requested your Name Check. If they have, probably the next time you enquire you may get 'Waiting for Security Clearance'.

I've just spoke with the National Customer Service Representative and asked her whether my Name Check was requested or not - and she told me that she does not have such kind of information :mad: What does that mean I wonder........
