Hi,
My wife attended an interview at the local office in January . She was told that the case was complicated and the Local Office needed some time to look at the application. My wife asked for a timeline of when the Application will be processed but she got no answer. She went back to the local office and enquired about the case but still did not get an answer .They told her "it would take a while" .
Question:
Is there any way we can speed up her process ?

I would appreciate any suggestions . Thanks .

What is your DO? What kind of complication did they told you about? Is your wife case has any not normal things?

Date Applied :- May 26 , 2004

She has had a Greencard for the last 15 years but has been going in and out of the country .
1)She re-entered US after an absence of more than 2 years in Nov , 1999 .She had a valid re-entry permit .
2)She left the country again in Dec,99 but returned in Apr ,2000(Please note that she came back within 6 months) and has maintained continuous residence here since then .

Our logic was that she qualified under the 4 years and 1 day rule when we applied . Doesn't she become eligible to apply sometime in Dec , 2003 based on the above rule . The Natz officer probably did not understand the above rule and she also said that there was a problem with the dates .
Is there any way to speed up the process?
