Pending I485, What are my Options?

My I485 was received by the USCIS on 10/4/2006 (EB2), my H1B expires on 11/18/2007. My employers says that they will renew my H1B but I am trying to decide what other options i have as i would like to move employers.

Should I apply for EAD and advanced parole (individually without the knowledge of my employer) or should i wait it out on the assumption that the US Govt will continue to process Green Cards after October.

What other options do i have?

If I-140 is approved (by either regular way or Premium Processing) and I-485 is pending for more than 6 months, I would have gone for AC-21 benefits in changing employer.
