pending I-55

I had my I-485 interview today and everything went well, we had all paper work in order and the officer said everthing was good except that my fingerprints had expired, so we were sent straight away for new fingerprints, however the officer wrote in my passport my A# admitted into NYC and todays date then wrote I-55 pending; what status if any does this give me and how long will i have to wait for GC?

That means that your I-485 is still pending. If you want to travel you have to use AP and to work EAD.
