Pending I 140... Changing jobs

Hi,

My LC has been approved. Before we could apply for an I 140 I've been offered a pretty good job in a different company. I just turned in my 2 weeks notice. I have a very good relationship with my employer and he is willing to file my I 140 if I need it.
My question is if the I 140 doesn't get approved before I leave the company will it be worthless?
Will there be any future risks associated with this tactic?

Thank you. I would appreciate any input on this.

I-140 filed but...

Hi guys,

I have few questions in similar lines.

My I-140 was filed 2 days back however before even it gets approved I know that I will be quitting this job in July end and join school for higher studies (back to F1 visa  .

Questions:

Q. Will I-140 continue being processed? Do employers file to revoke the process? Can I request my employer not to revoke?

Q. 2 years later when I join a completely different company and when they file for my GC under different category, can I use my old priority date of different category?

Thanks bunch!

Last week I asked my employer if they can/will continue my I-140 process even though I quit from my job. They agreed to not revoke the process.

1. Does this mean now that I have my priority date reserved for sure?

2. Can I use this priority date after 2 years with a completely diff employer and diff skill set?

Thanks

1. Your PD will be reserved if your employer continues to process the I-140, gets it approved and does not revoke it later.

2. You can use this PD later if the employer gives you the original or the copy of the approved I-140. This is required to recapture the old PD.
