Pending H1 extension and CP

Gurus,

I am facing a tricky situation (or is it?). My CP interview is due within a month and my H1 extension is still pending. Should I abandon pending H1 extension and go back home? What would I tell the CP Officer if he asks?

btw, I do have reciept from INS of H1 application.

Not legal advise:

I think you are fine with receipt. Try and search for other cases like yours with \'search\' facility.
However, some minor risk if you will be required to travel back to bring missing document. Most unlikely to happen.

I think you should be fine with your receipt provided the extension was filed in a timely manner. There have been other similar cases on this discussion board. But, consult your lawyer.
