Few days-weeks-months unfortunately nobody knows

It’s way too stressful. After waiting for years for the interview now stuck in this uncertainty of waiting for the decision. It’s taking a toll at our married life and mental well being!
I understand
My case is back to 2017 too.
I had to sued last year to get an interview, I had to wait 4 months after my interview for my approval.

I hear you, i am planning to write a post with the end to end details of the timelines once I get the decision. btw the officer told me that 2 weeks is standard time. I wonder if it’s the criminal background check that takes longer. Either ways, its really stressful.

Sometimes the officer can't make decision so the case needs to be reviewed by the director or in some cases background check take several months

the AO (Houston Asylum Office) told us that now they are not calling anyone in to pick the decisions. they mail it out for everyone and she wouldn’t have a timeline as its a process. Today marks the two week for us and there isn’t any change in our case status on the website. fingers crossed.

I got my asylum interview on April 15 2025 and i was told to pick up the decision at the time of the interview last week i received a letter from USCIS saying that your decision will be mailed. I also have pending U Visa. Has anyone faced this situation before when you have two cases pending asylum and pending U- Visa?

I do, my asylum was approved last year and my U visa still pending since 2018

They mailed to me 4 months after the interview ( I sue the government)
Arlington office.
u didn’t sue the government, u filed the writ of mandamus, against uscis which is not the government. the writ of manadamus is the intent to sue. btw 4months is a normal timeframe in which people get the approvals. good jon wasting your money..

Many people may not be familiar with a writ of mandamus. As a new member, you might not know the context. I'd like to clarify that I filed the writ of mandamus due to the lengthy delay (7.5 years) in scheduling the interview, not just waiting for an answer.

1. Writ of mandamus is a lawsuit,
It’s not just an “intent” it’s a real legal action so yep I sue.

2. USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) is a federal agency under the Department of Homeland Security, which is part of the US government.

3. There are many people waiting years for decision.
