Below is my case information

485 RD: 5/20/2005 filed at NSC
EB2 PD: June/2003
2nd FP done
3rd EAD pending

After the PD became current i made a service request at USCIS to know the status of my case. Since then i have recently received a letter from Seattle USCIS office stating that they are waiting for a background check to be completed and don't have a way to know how long it would take.

What are the choices for me now? Is this normal for everyone? Has anybody got their 485 approved with that PD after recent visa bulletin updates?

I'm really getting frustrated and i believe i can be more peaceful working in India than here.

Looking for some advise.

Thanks in advance

I can understand your situation but don't get frustrated. I know its very easy to say don't get frustrated. I have gone through same. my PD was 2001 and got stuck in namecheck and got approved last week only.

Write to First lady, contact senator's office do FOIPA with FBI , Contact ombudsman's office.

There was very good thread about Name check by saras . Let me see if i find it. Here it is..

Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply. It only makes it worse to see everyother brother is suffering with the same. Everybody (employers, this country, attornies) are taking advantage of this situation. For such a technologically sophisticated state like US, they are acting like a third world country in completing this check.
