My sister applied for asylum in November 2005 and was interviewed in March 2006. Since then she has not heard anything on her asylum status. She did infopass and wrote letters and all they said was that decision is pending. In that time frame, her marriage collapsed. She is fortunate enough to have found love again and is marrying a US citizen. Can she withdraw her asylum application and apply for GC based on her marriage? Also, she has two kids that she has full custody of. If she is granted GC through marriage will that be applicable to her kids too? She has a lawyer whom I think is useless!Any advise given is much appreciated.
