Pending Asylum Case / Fingerprinting notice - Advice needed

Asylum Applican

New Member
Hello -

I have a pending asylum applicaiton since Sept 2003, and got interviewed in Nov 2003. My attorney had sent several inquiries to the Asylum office, and we never got really a meaningful response. I got a notice to go give my fingerprints a couple of weeks ago (since the ones that I gave before I did the Asylum interview expired). My lawyer seems to think that this is a good sign and it means that my case might be processed for approval. I wanted to check if any of you had a similar situation and know how long it takes between getting the fingerprinting notice and getting a decision from the Asylum office.

Any information would be really appreciated. Good luck to everybody!

Is it a pending Application for political Asylum ? OR
Is it a pending Application for adjustment of status, for Permanent Resident?
Because, if it is a pending Application for political Asylum, pending since 2003 now we are 2007, in that case something imust be definitely wrong. At least that a long pending.
Good Luck
