Pending AOS application,H1B extension is rejected

My wife came to know that her H1B extension was denied( on May 15,2003) due to incorrect filing fee. It seems her company messed up her H1B extension. Now she is working for the same employer using EAD. Please let me know that will there are any problems in future or on our 485 Application due to this. She dependent applicant , we filed 485 application in Aug 23,2002

Her H1B expired on Dec 01,2002. I am assuming that she worked from Dec 02,2002 to May 15,2003 based on her pending H1B extension. She got her EAD in April 2003. She started working on EAD from May 16,2003. I hope that during that period she does not come under unauthorized employment. Please let me know if I am wrong.

since she was authorized to work during the pendency of her H1 extension application, and switched over to an EAD immediately upon rejection of that application, she should be covered.

use of EAD will of course shut the door to any future extensions to the current H1 (which now stands invalidated), therefore, remember to apply for EAD renewal 90+ days before its expiry to ensure continued work authorization.
