I was looking at the new TSC processing times report, I was wondering how come the pending 485 cases almost doubled from last report? Any ideas? it was around 40,000 cases in last report, now they reported more than 80000 cases.

I also cannot find firm explanation why number of cases doubled comparing with previous INS report.

What exactly this number means in the report?
Total number of cases since June till now or something else?
Maybe some priority dates become current and a lot of people filed I-485 during the period between last INS report and the current one.
