PD not Current, Still issued RFE! possible?

My priority date is Aug 2003 and in EB2 at NSC.
For EB2 the PD is Jan 2003 and there is a LUD on my wife's I-485 case yesterday, saying
"On June 22, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours."

I hope this is an RFE on I-485. Is it possible to get an RFE before the PD is current???
 
Yes it is possible. There is a new process going on where in USCIS process all the pending cases even though they are not current. They will check all other aspects and will be ready for approval. So once your date becomes current then they can just approve it. They are doing this to speed up the process.
