PCC Submission - When???

Gurus,

I have a question regarding the PCC submission. The Buffalo office specific documents check list mention that a PCC from the countries lived to be attched with the application. However their website says "Do not request a police certificate from Hong Kong, the United States or Canada until you are instructed to do so by a visa office. Further instructions for obtaining the police certificate from these authorities will be sent to you if one is required." Reference link is

Does that mean I am not required to attach the PCCs with the application?

I am from India and currently live in the US. I have taken the fingerprints in the card and waiting to send them to the FBI, WV.

Could any one please clarify my question?

Since Sept/04 Buffalo insists that you submit all PCCs with your application, if not it will be returned.

There has been a lot of confusion on this issue lately. I'm also waiting for the PCCs to send in with my application.

But, When in doubt, take the safest route..
If the PCCs are required and you dont send them, you are in trouble, bu tif they are not and you do send them, nothing is lost. they will still process your application.

So, after going through some forums like this, I too decided to send them with the App. IF anything, having a complete application might help your case in some way or the other...

So, dont wait, send your FPs to the FBI right away. When issues like immigration are concerned, having to do a second set of FPs later and spending a few dollars extra doesnt matter...

need help on PCC

Hi,
I have already submitted my application and got my file no.But I did not submit the PCC along with it.But I have my PCC from India and the Fingerprint from US ready with me.Can I send it write away or should I wait until they ask me ? My PCC from India will be expiring in 2 months ....what should I do?

I am totally confused about the PCC and fingerprint issues.

I have done my fingerprinting. I have it with me right now. What do I do with it now? Send it to the FBI???

Where do I get my PCC? Can any police department issue that?

How does it work??

I have read those documnets. The wording is still not clear.

For example, in Appendix B,

it reads something like,

"USA

"You must provide...."

My question is "You must provide to who?"

Do I submit the fingreprint card with the application form ro do I submit it to the authority issuing my police clearance???

I have the PR application document. I need some interpretation of what they have in that document.

Could someone please explain the procedure to obtain police clearance letter in the U.S.? I called up the county records office. Is that what you all did or somethign similar?? Thanks!

This is exaclty what I was looking for. This makes sense.

So it means obviosuly I don't have to get a polcie letter from the local police. The report I will get back from the FBI, WV is enough. Correct?

Hi,
You can get the police certificate for India(in case ur nationality is Indian)from the Indian consulate in ur place(or ur consulate in ur place).It takes about a month to get it after the application.There will stamp in ur passport as well as they will give u a print out which will be ur Police certificate for India(or which ever country u belong to).

Police certificate for US is the FBI fingerprint.I got my finger printing from a private fingerprinting store(UPS store).It could also be got from the DMV office.Check the canadian consulate of Buffalo site for information on fingerprinting in US.Then mail that along with the form (where all ur address should be filled) to the FBI in West Virginia.It could around 10 weeks to receive the result back from them.This will be the police certificate for USA.

I called the Canadian office in Detroit - they told me to submit all the PCC's upfront and not seperately
