I have got my I-140 cleared with CP option and had some questions w.r.t PCC (Police Cealarance certification). I am a citizen of India who has stayed in US for 6 yrs on H1B while my wife has stayed here for 1 month. My consulate in India is Chennai, India. I had the below questions on PCC.

1) Does Chennai consulate ACCEPT PCC from Indian Consulate in US?
2) If answer to the question 1) is Yes, my residence of jurdisction is Indian Consulate in Chicago however I travel on office visit and stay temporarily at Indian consulate in San Francisco jurdisction as well. MY QUESTION IS WHICH CONSULATE DO I APPLY FOR PCC. Can I use Indian consulate in San Francisco jurdisction though I am a resident of Indian Consulate in Chicago?
3) What does the Indian Consulate in US perform before issuing my PCC, ie do they check for any criminal records, felony , residential proof in both US/India on my name. Can you please let me know what they check before issuing the PCC.
4)What are the docs that has to be submitted to get the PCC clearance from Indian consulate in US?
5)Since my wife has been in US for only 1 month, where should her PCC be got from. Should it be got from Indian consulate in US or Police offices in India.

(I think you should apply to the Indian Consulate in Chicago. I am assuming that your residence is in Chicago and you stay in hotels etc in San Frisco.)

4)What are the docs that has to be submitted to get the PCC clearance from Indian consulate in US? ( Miscellaneous Services form for with 1 PP photo / original passprt - will be returned on the same day, photocopy of all pages of passport and $ 20)
5)Since my wife has been in US for only 1 month, where should her PCC be got from. Should it be got from Indian consulate in US or Police offices in India. (Yes)

1) Yes
2) You can always give it a shot.
3) (Though I agree with bulandhausla) they will not check any US stuff. They will wait for a clearance from India and if none recd. in abt. 40ish days it's eqv. to recd.
5) Yes. It should work. I would think you have still abt. 3-4 mos. before interview, right.
