I received the PCC from the Indian Consulate. They have stamped it in my passport. Do I have to make a copy of that and send it or make a copy get it notorized and mail it or send the original passport itself to the Canadian Consulate for proof of PCC.
They insist that the PCC should be in original. So I am not too sure what needs to be done.

Any responses greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi
I am new to this forum and Canada PR process.
But I read somewhere in the forum that , Canada authorities just want a letter and not the passport copy. And you can request the letter from Indian consulate along with the stamp in the passport.

Which Indian consulate did you apply for and How long it took?

It took only week from the Indian Consulate in New York. I did not even contact them, as they had mentioned that it will take about 3 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Hello Sanjayrangan,

I have a question regarding PCC from Indian Embassy. Did you specifically ask about the PCC letter besides the stamping in passport or by default they issue the letter? Since I am going to apply for PCC from Embassy in Washington, DC, I appreciate your response.

Thanks for your time...

SSelva69.....Info about PCC

This is the process

1) Fill out the miscellanoeous form
2) Write a letter explaining to them as to why you need the PCC and what is the purpose for ?

3) Enclose $20 for the PCC and another $20 if your passport is not originally issued from Washington, DC
4) It takes about 10-15 days for them to issue the PCC, but usually you will get it in 10 days,

note : By default they will stamp your passport in the last page and also issue a PCC letter. You dont have to ask for it explicitly. Hope this information helps.

If your Passport is issued from India, PCC will take about 30-35 days. But if your passport is issued from any Indian Embassy in US you will get your PCC in 7 days or you can get in 1 day if you can drop in personally.

We have received the PCC from Indian Embassy, Washington DC today. We have submitted the applications in person and received back with stamping in 4 working days though they informed it will be ready in 3 weeks. My passport is issued from Washington, DC and my spouse's from Chennai, India.

Hope this helps to any one wishes to get PCC from Indian Embassy.
