Dear Friends,

Can you help me in applying PCC from US ?
I talked to NY consulate ppl, they tell i will get it in 45 days.

I may need to leave before 6 weeks.
Did anyone else face a similar situation ?
Can i apply and get it while in India ?

Please tell.

Before you decide and get your answer for anything just go ahead and apply for PCC. Dont waste a single day hereon. And then meanwhile you can dig out other routes if this does not turns out good.

Get a letter from NYC that you applied and it takes 6 weeks.
Then go to India and get it from the RPO. That is what I did.
 
I got it the same day. Better if you know someone there and let them know you are coming.

how much time should i expect, my passport is issued before 97.

Applying in the US had nothing to do with it.
Fill out a new application in Delhi and to get it the same day, it is better to have a contact person there.

is your passport issued after 1997? or it does'nt really matter, you can still request them to expedite as you have consulate interview.
