NVC Issue Fee Bill: 5/19/03

Faith,

You need to contact your local Police station in Pakistan. You do not have to contact the Embassy.

Local Police station in Pakistan will ask for photocopy of your passport and National Identity card. They will issue the certificate in 1 week.

Thats what I did. I hope this helps

Thanks Gumby. I am assuming you got your GC already, so congrats on that. Is it possible for you to post your particulars?

Gumby:

Thanks for your info.

I just wanted to re-confirm: Was the PCC issued by the local "thana" in Pakistan acceptable to the U.S. Embassy when you interviewed.

Also, I would be VERY grateful if you could share the following info:

1. The designation of the officer who signed off on your police certificate

2. The wording of the PCC

3. How many months in advance of the interview can we obtain the PCC. Does it have to be within a few weeks of the interview or can it be earlier?

I know that this may be cumbersome - but I cannot tell you helpful this would be.

Thank you so much!

Well, I have not yet received Green Card yet. I have CP interview scheduled for June 24. If you like to know about dates, you can go to www.cptracker.com nad get information from there.

Police Certificate just mentions in a paragraph that they have performed at my criminal background check and have found nothing.

Keep in mind that PCC is valid for 6 months. You have to renew after the expiring date. They will take 10 days to issue one.

You might also need, a letter from attorney, or from embassy stating they need it. This is what I had to give to get one in Karachi.

1. Copy of NIC
2. Copy of current passport.
3. Letter from attorney, about requirement for PCC with reason.
4. Check list from Packet #3.
5. Metriculation certificate.
6. Nikha nama ( if married, used for your wife. )
7. And some mula. It took me 6 weeks to get one.

PCC

It is already printed and available in very police station,
they just fill in :

Gumby and txcp: Thank you very much for your information. I appreciate it.

Thank you again for all your help. This forum provides an incredible amount of support - without which I would be totally lost!

I might have more questions to ask with regard to PCC in the next few days - would be VERY grateful if you guys stuck around!
