Have you ever applied for a police certificate from your local police station in India? What was the procedure?

PCC-just obtain from the Indian Embassy $20

I just applied for the PCC from the Indian Embassy, D.C.
Download application form from the website.

PCC is applied with the passport office, the local police station does the routine enquiry similiar when you apply for passport and send report to passport office. The passport is returned to you with the PCC stamp + stating the same thing on a paper form.
