This just dawned on me- my H1B is expiring end of this week and of course I am waiting for EAD-I have already taken care of employment issues but am still contemplating this- Because of my company's pay periods, I will actually get paid for work up till end of this week on March 8th. I am worried-maybe paranoid is a better word- that someone will think I am illegally working because my pay is 2 weeks after my H1B expires. What do you guys think?

Honestly, unless your employer is threatening to lay you off unless you get your EAD in time (mine did), don't worry about it. Although by continuing to employ you after your H-1B expires and before you get your EAD, they are breaking the law, in reality the chances of it being an issue are slight.

From your point of view, any illegal work is forgiven by USCIS as a person who is filing for AOS through marriage to a US Citizen. In essence it has no legal implications for you.

From your employers point of view, they are breaking the law. However their chances of being prosecuted are slim.
