Pay stubs

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I've a question on pay stubs.

I'm currently working in Texas and my labor petition was approved from Maine.
As I'm in Texas, I believe there is no need to pay state taxes. My employer is asking me to pay taxes for Maine as the labor was filed from that state. I'm wondering if this is true and if I definitely have to pay state tax for Maine. At the same time I don't want to mess with my green card processing.
