I think those bills are for denying citizenship to babies born in USA for non-immigrant visa holders, not for denying GC. Please read it carefully. Those bills will never see the light of the day. It's just that some representatives are using their right to introduce some bills.

Anyway, who will comes to this country if they start putting so many restrictions. I wonder how many from India will come to USA if they have to pay huge fees in dollars, finish Master's degree, then forced to go back to India for the same jobs which can be applied for without a US degree also.

Sooner or later, these anti-immigrant groups will realise that this country's economy depends on immigrants too and kicking them out will only worsen the economic situation.

Hey

Well I did look at it again. It clearly states "no person born in the United States will be a United States citizen unless a parent is a United States citizen, or is lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States, at the time of the birth." As far as I know H1/F1/B1/L1 is not "permanent residence". So most desi people who are neither us citizens nor PRs will come under this law. Again its just how i read it.

The other law states "permanent allegiance". I dont know how that is interpreted.

Both laws are supported only by Republicans. one is supported by 14 people! Considering that fact that republicans control the senate, we cannot draw any conclusions. But I think GW will veto cuz of the hispanic votes in texas.

Not laws, these are bills!!!!!!!!

Hispanic votes not only in Texas but everywhere in US.

There might be new bill which requires non-US-citizens to get pre-approval from BCIS to have kids.
