patent is an award ?

I am wondering that the papent is considered as an award.
I do not have any awards but two patents.
Can I write these patents as awards ?

You should include your patents to show you're worthy, but the impression that I got after reading this board is that an award has to be "unsolicited" to qualify as an "award" and excludes many fellowship, grant, etc.:(
 
A patent by itself means very little unless you show the importance and contribution of the patent to your field. It does not count towards an award.
