Past mistakes forgiven when granted PR status?

Hi, I have my citizenship interview scheduled in a couple of weeks and I'm really nervous. I came to the US originally on a student visa but eventually dropped out of school, found a job and overstayed my visa. Since 2007, I'm a legal permanent resident. I achieved my PR status through marriage (still married) and I applied for citizenship on the basis of the 5 year rule. My question is this: can my past come back to haunt me or has it been "forgiven" by having been granted PR status? I've heard that they don't always have all of your file available during the interview and I'm certainly not planning on bringing up the time before 2007. I do know, however, that I have to tell the truth if asked - can they deny my citizenship even though they had evidence of my illegal status? I have never lied to an USCIS officer. None of the issues associated with being illegal (e.g. employment, entries to US, etc) were discussed during my original interview that granted my PR status. I'm so stressed over this that I think I'm giving myself an ulcer!

My guess is they are mostly concerned with what you did in the time after you became a permanent resident. You were granted the benefit of permanent residence. They want to see if you have utilized it well.

Don't worry about that. overstay and illegal work is forgiven for IR of USC when they granted PR Status. So, Relax!!
