Passport validity requirement

Hi,

Does any body know of any requirement regarding the number of months left on the passport before it expires to re-enter US, if you are a green card holder? or is it ok to travel even if the passport is valid for less than six months. Seems like (Indian) passports can be renewed only if there are six months left on it to expire.

There is no restriction upon re-entry (other than the fact that the PP must be valid)

BTW, what you heard about Indian passports is NOT correct. You can get a new passport anytime within 1 year of the current PP expiry (and before 6 months AFTER expiry).
