My passport validity is going to expire by May 2001.
I got my 485 approved on April 12th 2001.
Is there any restriction on passport validity
to go for passport stamping? any suggestions??

A passport has to be valid for the life of the visa and
a passport can be renewed 6 months before it expires
(I believe).

It normally takes two days to renew your passport.
You will be better off renewing your passport before you
go for the GC stamp.

The passport must remain valid at least 6 months prior to its expiry and prior to the passport stamping. You must renew it soon.

While stamping passport must not expired. There is no six months rule. My passport is going to expire in Nov 2001 still I got stamp last week.
