Passport Stampping question, please help!

Hi,

I have got my I485 approved, and the approval notice has arrived by mail. But my husband's case hasn't been approved yet. Because we are living quite far away from Charlotte, I'm thinking of waiting for a while (say a couple of weeks, so that we can go for passport stamping together).

On the approval notice, it only says which days in a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and when (9am-12pm), I can go and get passport stamped. (I understand that I need to have an Infopass appointment first). But here my question is:

Is there a time frame after the approval date that we HAVE TO get the passport stamped within that timeframe? If so, how long can it be?

We need to figure out how long I should wait for my husband's approval or I should just go ahead and get my passport stamped first.

Please help to answer this if you know any information.

Thanks a lot!

Go and get stampped first and get relived. You will receive your cards after passport stampping only. So get the privilage first. You need not to worry about the transit visa in case if you want to travel.

Regarding the wait time you can delay as long as you can, there is no limit in approval letter.

You have to have Infopass appointment to get stampped now a days, it is better go to online fix the date get it stampped. If your husband is faraway he can get it stampped nearest location there it self. He don't need to come to your location for stampping purpose only. If he is busy.

All the best

I totally agree. Get an approintment and get your stamping done first so that you get your physical GC sooner.
