Hi,
we got our passport stamped today at NYC.
It was easy process, reached federal plaza building at 8:40 AM and directly went to the door .(Looking at the big line was scary).
At the door entrance the security guy just saw the letter from the top and told us to go to 8th floor (the notice says 1st floor). Reached 8th floor and there security told us to go to counter 1. Went to counter and they took the notice and told us to wait for sometime, by 9:15 she called both of us and asked for the document listed in notice (2 photo, I94, 2 eads(not Listed we submitted)) She put all that in envelope for each of us and took signature and index finger print in form. and told us to wait for call. So from 9:15 till 10:40 we just waited there sitting and sleeping..... and finally the lady called the our name and gave the passport with stamp in it and told us that we will get our card in 6 month timeframe. and we can work and travel using this stamp.
That was it. so by 11:00 AM we were out of the INS office.
The sitting area was for general public, I was not able to see much of the Emplyoment based GC people there, most of them was quite old.
My I140 was approved for CP but I went with I485. And it didnt effect the approval time at all.
