passport stamping

I live in state A and I gave my friend's address in state B for INS purposes.
When my I-485 is approved, do I need to have my passport stamping done in State B or can I go passport stamping in State A?

I don't know yet. I-485 was approved yesterday. I will have to wait and see who received it. I will update on his forum as soon as I receive it.
