Friend of mine got his 485 approved as per IIO. But he didn\'t get his approval notice yet and AVM is also not updated. Is it possible to go and get the stamping with WAC info? He will going on a business trip for close to 2 months. He wants to get his PP stamped before that.

I dont think it is possible to stamp Passport without courtesy or original copy of approval notice. They ask for approval even before assigning you waiting no. at PP stamping centers. I beleive you can request INS to mail a new copy if you do not receive it within 2 weeks of approval.
Good luck.

Hi csc_applicant,

Manny is right. You most likely need an approval notice to get
passport stamped. There was one exception posted by a CSC folk
a while back.

He went for stamping with his wife whose case was still pending.
While stamping, he asked the officer to check his wife case.
Surprisingly, the officer found out from the computer screen
that his wife case was also approved and simply stamped both
of their passports together.

Thus, theoretically, it\'s possible to go for stamping without
courtesy copy. The biggest problem is, as mentioned by Manny,
that the security quard at the door may not let you in if you
have no proof of approval.
