Passport stamping question

I heard that at the time of stamping the passport has to be valid for at least 6 more months.
Can anybody point me to some resource (law or INS regulation etc.) describing this requirement?!

Otherwise, from your knowledge, is this 6 months limit clearly stated anywhere or is it "about 6 months"? My passport will be expiring in a little over 6 months and I need to know whether I can go ahead with the stamping or I should have its valability extended first.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

PP stamping ?

i just got my AOS approved but have not received any documentation as yet. What is the process/timeline etc. for passport stamping. I live in MD.

Take the approval notice

Along with the docs specified in th enotice to the INS center mentioned in your notice and get the Passport stamped.

that\'s not what I\'m asking ...

... it\'s just the "6 months" passport validity issue that is concerning me. Any knowledge about that?

They never checked my PP for the expiration date though but blindly stamped it for 1 year.

The only problem is what if you don\'t get the card with in six months from the date of stamping?
Most probably you should receive one with in 3-4 months but you never know.

Best of luck.
