Passport stamping question.

My I-485 has been approved in September. However, I only got this approval notice via email from USCIS. The approval letter that was sent to me was returned to USCIS on 9/28 due to a mistake by my Post Office. I then called the toll-free number to request this letter to be resent. This request has been sleeping in their system for a full month without anyone even looking at it.

After many calls and consulting with my attorney, it seems that sometimes the inquiries are never answered and so after 30 days I will have to call back and place another one, if still not answered, place another one after another 30 days, on and on until 3 times.

Instead of ridiculously waiting for my inquiry being ignored for 30 days and another 30 days, I decided to go to Newark local office for my passport stamping any way since I have an official approval email from USCIS. I have already made an appointment through infopass.

Can anyone share some idea about how my action would result. Do you think the officer at the local office would consider my case approval based on the official email I got from USCIS?

Please advise. Thanks.

Didn't you attorney get the original copy of the Approval notice...

No. This is the part of the mystery. I thought the USCIS would send the letters to both me and my attorney. Even if my copy got returned by my post office, the attorney should get the other copy by now. But this is not the case as of today. I called USCIS toll-free number, they said it "should be" sent out with two copies. But they can't provide any evidence that the other copy went out to my attorney. There is NO WAY for me to verify this even calling USCIS customer service number. They are so un-reliable and telling noncense. "Should be" can well be interpreted as "may not be".

That's why I decided to go to Newark local office to find it out myself. Notice that Infopass website has an option to "speak to an immigration officer" when making appointment... so, why not.
