passport stamping experience

Hi, everyone. Just want to share with you the passport stamping experience at Philadelphia office. We started scheduling an appointment through Infopass before we received the approval notices. It was pretty hard to grab an available time slot. I tried so many times and got the 'no appointment available' message so many times. Finally I managed to take the only available appointment, which was on the same day the attorney received the official notices. However, we two only had one appointment. We were a little worried at first, but fortunately they didn't give us a hard time at all. The whole process was pretty quick and went smoothly. We got our stamps within about an hour. I am happy.

Thank you all for the support and help. Good luck to everyone, especially those EB2 guys - I know how it is like to have to wait for your I-140 to get approved for an year! But hey, you might get your I-485 approved soon after or on the same day like I did. Keep patient and keep your fingers crossed...

Hi PhillyJuly,

I received the approval emails but no notice yet. You said I can already use the InfoPass to set appointment. How will I know that I should do my stamping in Philadelphia? It is not written in the email where to do the stamping and what to do next. Are they written in the actual letter?

Let me know.

Thanks & Congratulations!

Well it's not writtent anywhere in the approval notice. As I live in the Philadelphia metropolitan, it seems pretty straightforward that I belong to Philadelphia office. You may go to http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/distsub_offices/index.htm and find out what local office you should go to. Generally there are only 1 or 2 local offices in a state, and it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what office you belong to - I suspect it's ok to just go to the one nearest in your state.

Congratulations on your approval too!
