Guys,
Did the passport stamping for myself and wife today in Sacramento. We had the first appointment slot for the day, at 7:30 AM and we finished the entire process in about an hour!!
Tip: The earlier appointment slot you have the faster you can get out.
There was no queue at the center, but security was letting in people only one group at a time. Had to show ID and Infopass notice at the security check area.Went through security check and the approval notice indicated that we had to go to the second floor, so we took the excalator to the appointments counter on the 2nd floor. We were third in line at the token counter. Had to show both our IDs and InfoPass appointments, we were given two consecutive token numbers, 2 & 3. Wait time on the token was 0 min!
We were asked to go to room 230. We were both called in approx 5 mins.First gave our approval notices. Officer then asked us for our I-94s, had to detach it from the passport and give it to her. Then asked us for the photos. We had already taken out our EAD cards, she also took that from us when she saw it though she didnt ask for it specifically. Never mentioned about AP, officer never asked for it either.
The we had to sign the fron and back of a form as well as put our index thumbprints, then gave our passports. Entire process took just 5 mins. The asked us to wait. We waited for approx 45 mins during which time they were calling other numbers ahead of us. After 45 mins an officer announced our names and asked us to come to counter 4. He gave us back our passports showing us the I-551 stamp. I asked him whether my wife's full name would appear on the greencard ( since she has a middle initial ) , he told me not to worry and it will appear exactly as it was in the application. Took our passports and left.
Entire process was very cool and fast, took us just 1 hour.
I could see that subsequent appointments had more waiting time.
Now just waiting for the plastic card to arrive!!
