I finally got my passport stamped. I reached Charoltte, NC office at around 12 and was out by 1:00. I did not bother to schedule a appointment.
I was given a token Number and estimated wait time printed on the token was 1 hour 5 min. I just submitted my passport, 2 picts and I94 cards. she never asked for EAD card or AP.
The actual stamping took 3 minutes. she took finger prints and asked me to sign some form.
She stamped the passport and told me I can travel outside the country based on PP stamping.
when I asked her when I will get ma Plastic card , she replied " 8 months" ( I had a hearty laugh).
I want to thank Rajiv Khanna and all u guys for posting ur details. Based on this message board , I was able to estimate My GC approval time.
