hello all,
we had our AOS interiew at detroit local office and our passports were stamped saying the following

"processed for I-551 temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence valid until xx/xx/xx employment authorised"

is this equivalent to GC then??

also we have to travel in 1 wk to India, do we need to carry any more documents for entering US??

also when exiting the US anyone know what is the exit policy/procedures now

That is the proof of your permanent residency. You are a permanent resident. GC will be mailed to you soon.

You may be travelling thru some other country. Check if you need transit visa.

I never heard of anything like that, travel agent/airline can shed some light on it.

even though it looks like an ordinary stamp....it is special ink...
all the airline people recognize it...you will have no problems....as pv1976 said...check about transit requirements...

right

you probably won't have a problem at the airport here

however you might have a problem at the airport there

the stamp is proof of your permanent residency

however not every place around the world is familiar with that stamp. You may have to wait a little bit while they make a phone call to confirm it. That's all.
