Passport stamped(Indianapolis experience)

Although my processing was done thru Vermont center I guess there would be more people from Nebraska center who would go Indianapolis for stamping and that's why I am posting my experience here.

I got my passport stamped today(Feb 28th Friday) in Indianapolis.

Parking-> there is enough parking in Gateway Plaza where INS office is located. It costs $2 and there is no time limit.

Line and rush -> I reached there at 6.30 and I was the first person. At 6.45 2nd person arrived. By 7 there were 5 people, by 7.30 there were 30 people and by the time it opened at 8 there were 70 people.

Stamping->I was called at 8.05 and IIO asked for I-94s, courtsey copy of approval letter, photographs, EADs(I had two and I gave both), Advance Parole and the passport and was asked to take a seat.
He called again in 15 minutes took the imprint of index finger of right hand and the signature and gave back the passport stamped.

Other Important things-> 1) Line starts inside the building on the 4th floor so heat is on 2) IIO didn't make me fill up any address form which is generally done everywhereelse. Since I had no address change so I didn't even ask but those who have a change of address should ask for it.

Good luck !

Congrats bakshi. Enjoy your freedom.

Can we go to any INS center for stamping or we have to go to the place mentioned in the approval notice(if mentioned).

I appreciate your answer.

I have no idea about that Mala !

Although I live in Chicago the place mentioned in the approval letter was Indianapolis so I went there.....
Good luck !

Mala,
You can go to any INS center that is serving your area...
(For example, even if INS tells you to go Cincinnatti or Indianapolis and if you live in Columbus OH, you can go to the nearest office, which is in Columbus)
