Passport stamped in July 2004 and did not receive plastic card yet...

My spouse and I got my passport stamped for green card in July 2004. My spouse received the card but I'm still waiting for the plastic card.

I have made several inquires already and recently I was transferred to IIO. Nothing useful came out of the conversation. He told that I need to wait without stating any reasons and said that it can take upto 1 year to receive the card. I'm not sure what is going on.

I had also visited the local BCIS office and he also didn't give me any answers to why it is taking so long. He said that they are just backlogged.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated on what should I do?

I had the same problem,
my papers were lost at the local(Boston) office.
So I faxed an inquiry to VSC, and they explained they never received my papers from local office,
so I did redo fingerprints at local office again, and got card soon.

So fax inquiry at VSC, add a pasport copy of the page with your stamp.

Comment1...

Thanks for the suggestions.

Comment1, how did you come to know that your papers where lost? IIO at local BCIS office and IIO on phone was able to locate my application. Will that mean that they have not lost my fingerprints or approval papers.

presario1626, my BCIS local office is Boston.

Thanks for the link. I will appreciate if you could forward me the fax number as well.

tammy2, do I need to fill both Page 1 and 2 or just page 2.

I will also appreciate if you could share your experience in regard to G-731.

VSC FAX number : (802) 527-4816 to request an expedite. The fax line is available 24 hours a day.

I think page one make more sense. But it does not have receipt number. I would send the both pages.
