I had my passport stamped this morning. I got in around 7:45am, took my photos in the room INSIDE the INS office (E-160), $10 for two. Then I had to go outside of room E-160 to get form I-89 and my finger printed. I waited for about 90 minutes for my turn. There was only one officer taking care of my type of case, and he was sloooooow (average 10 min per case).
My details:
PD 11/97 LC-based
ND 9/98
FP taken 3/99
Contacted Senator 7/24/00, got reply on 7/26/00, told that my case was misrouted and to expect approval in 2 weeks.
Case approved 8/8/00
Received approval notice 8/14/00
Passport stamped 8/15/00
Hopefully I\'ll get the card within a few months, and not have to deal with INS for another 5 years.
Good luck to everyone. I will continue to come back and answer questions.
