Hi All,
Today (11/02/01) we ( self, spouse, 2 kids) got our passports stamped at NYC.

We reached Federal Plaza at 7:00 AM. There were about 25 people
already in the line on Worth St entrance. ( about 50 on Broadway
entrance). We used Worth St entrance as per the approval letter.

By the time they allowed inside (7:30 AM sharp) there were about
150 or more in the line. We our out by 8:15 AM.

We walked into R.No 1-102 and waited in the line. There were 3 counters
opened and after a while 4 th counter opened.

When our turn came we all 4 walked to the counter ( A lady clerk/officer ????) she asked me to give the approval letter, photos
and passport one (i.e. for one person) at a time. I gave all them
also I gave the APs. She asked me what are those. I do not need
them. Then I took them back. Then she realized that she need APs.
She asked are those papers APs ? She took them too.

Asked me to write my name on some form. When I wrote she turned the
paper and told me to sign the full name. (No clue what is required
and want she wanted). Also wrote the A# on the form.

She asked me which address I want the Cards to be sent and asked me
to write that on Approval letter.

She stapled all these together and stamped on the passport and told
me usual stuff. ( the cards will arrive in 3 to 6 months, you can
use this stamp for travel and employment, any questions do not contact
this office, contact VSC etc....)

Then it was my spouse\'s turn. Then it was my my son\'s turn. That time
my spouse asked me what about the finger prints on the form. Then I asked
the lady. Then she said I forgot ok come on give your pringer prints
blah...blah... . Then my daughter\'s turn.

Finally she told us you are all set and good luck.

Come out of the building at 8:15 AM and walked towards Ground Zero.
Walked around for about 1 hours. It is heart breaking scene.
My Son and Daughter started crying. Last time we were there was around
last week of July, 2001. Every thing changed now.

Took Train 4 from Woodlawn Station and got down at City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge station. It is just 2 minutes walking to Federal Plaza.
