My daugter received 485 approval in June 2005. Her passport was to expire in the next few weeks and so we applied for the validity extension in NY Indian embassy. But embassy wanted her to apply for a new passport as she was 16. The new passport is yet to be issued. Now it is Nov and we are pursuing this vigorously with the embassy.
The question I have is- Is there any time limit within which we need to get the passport stamped? If we can not the passport back, do we need to apply for any extension from USCIS or something?
