Are you required to bring a passport when doing the FP? Or, what type of identification is required? The reason being is that my son's passport has to be returned back to the country of origin for renewel. This will take approximate 1 month, and I'm concerned we may receive FP notice during this time? Please advise.

technically you just need and ID- so usually a drivers license is OK- but I am sure you son probably doesn't have one??? So I am not sure about minors and ID. If you get your Fp in the meantime, it is usually for about three weeks time, so you will have some leeway.

As a note, I had my FP done today and asked what ID is acceptable for my son when he comes in next Wednesday for fingerprinting. (He's 16). They said his student ID card (which has a photo) is fine. I'll also bring his BC and his AP just in case though. This is the Atlanta ASC.
