Passport Renewal with expired H4 visa

My wife H4 has been extended till Feb'07. The visa expired Feb'04. Her passport is expiring in Sep'05. She is traveling to India and thought of getting the visa stamped there. I have some questions

a. Is there a problem getting the visa stamped in July since the passport expiry would be just 2 months from then?

b. She can renew it here, wondering if they issue a new passport since the H1 visa is expired in the passport ( though she is in status till Feb'07)

a. I belive that you need a passport valid for 6 mos. for applying for the visa.
b. Yes, she can renew the PP with a valid I-94.
