As far as I know,you should have Passport in hand for FP.

My Passport is expiring in August 2007 and I am waiting for FP appointment notice in few days. Should I give my Passport for renewal right now or should I wait for FP appointment notice for few more days and get the FP done and then go for Passport renewal?
Any suggestion please?

You don't need your passport for FP - just a government issued photo ID for which a driver's license will suffice. They didn't even ask for our passports at our FP appointment.

what if the license is under renewal. Because it takes almost 3 weeks to get back the license. Will the passport work in this case?

Any government-issued photo ID

You can use either a driver's license or a passport - basically whatever you would use as ID to go through security at an airport... they don't care as long as it's authentic, and its yours...

There will be a policeperson at the USCIS center just checking your ID and making sure you are the same person that appears on the appointment notice, just like security at the airport makes sure the name on the boarding pass matched your ID - and that's it. Then you go through and wait your turn to be called...

Yes, any valid govt issued Photo ID should be fine. Your FP notice would tell you the same.

If it helps.. both myself and my wife didn't even carry passports with us when we went for FP last week.

Thanks a lot to all for your replies.
BTW I submitted my passport for renewal and new passport will be provided on the 10th Business day.

One question :->
Is there any communication needs to be sent to USCIS related with new passports details which I and my kids going to get?

No. USCIS doesn't have anything to do with passport. However, I guess the passport needs to be valid at the time of applying for 485 (not totally sure).

Actually same is the case with my wife as her passport was stuck at embassy (still at embassy).
