Passport Renew of Native Country

Hello Folks!
Has anybody renewed their native country passport while Asylum case is on? Is it okay to do so?

I'd say it depends. One thing is you are an asylee, but if you are waiting for the interview and who knows how much time you'd wait having a passport renewed may not be a bad idea.
In case of emergency you won't be able to even leave the country if needed. Plus renewing EAD takes forever now, so, again, having a solid document won't hurt.
But again, cases are different.
 
Hi guys! I renewed my passport while I was waiting for my asylum interview. Nothing happened. My asylum was approved and all. The big deal is if you are already an asylee, then DO NOT renew your home country's passport.
